Who wants some juicy parts info? Our catalog went live today, so tomorrow while I'm at work I'll point out some interesting facts, like, the 16" tire option is still a 185 width tire.

I am okay with no sun roof. It means lower costs and lower C.G. Is this just for the hatchback or does it include the sedan? Can you figure out if it has a full size spare, space saver, or inflation kit?

We're only getting the hatch as far as I can tell.

There is a space saver jack and tools shown in the catalog, no inflation kit..... One of the first things I checked :)

Do you know how much it'll weigh? I know they cut a ton of weight out when they developed the last generation so the lack of power was less of an issue.

Does it look like it still has a torsion beam rear suspension?

Are headlights listed as projectors, or reflectors?

Some show cars seemed to suggest a floor-mounted gas pedal, is there any way to confirm this for the production model?

Torsion beam (with rear drums, eww), headlamps don't show specific details but LED are an option, pedal is floor hinged as are all Mazdas since its an electric throttle.

It still has to compete with the Fit that people will buy because it's a Honda. The Fit isn't a bad car at all but it has more brand recognition. I think the new 2 is the best looking in its segment. I'm biased because I have a 3. My friend got a 3 in part because of my recommendation. She was looking at the Fit first but couldn't get past the shrink rayed minivan looks. Her near exact words were "I couldn't live with something that looks like a minivan, it's just too ugly."

THIS is the Mazda I really wanted. The 2 was too small, but the 3 was just a touch too big. I have a 3 now and honestly it's great but given how hot hatchey it is supposed to be, it's kinda big. I mean I'm fairly sure I could swap a big 3.5 V6 theres so much room up front. the new 2 I believe to be awesome. I would like to see where this car goes.
